<image:title>Postcards - Antelope Canyon, Zion & the Grand Canyon - The next morning, we got back in the car. Because clearly we'd learned nothing. This time, we were headed to the Grand Canyon — another two-and-a-half-hour drive.</image:title>
<image:caption>We visited the South Rim, and "wow factor" doesn't even cover it. The massive split in the land is indescribable — it felt like standing at one end of the earth and looking toward the other. I remember sitting there, reaching my hand into the air, half-expecting to touch a green screen. No matter where we walked, everything in front of us genuinely looked fake. My brain couldn't quite comprehend the scale of what I was looking at. We hiked partway down into the canyon to see how far we could get before turning around and making the climb back up. Along the way, we passed a group of bighorn sheep casually munching on whatever it is they eat — leaves, maybe? We ate at Yavapai Cafe and ended our final day watching the sunset over the Grand Canyon. Not a bad way to finish a trip.</image:caption>

<image:title>Postcards - Our First Girls' Trip: Four Days in Sedona - Cathedral Rock, a Packed Lunch & a Yoga Mat</image:title>
<image:caption>In hindsight, the amount of stuff we packed for Cathedral Rock is hilarious. Books. Journals. An entire lunch. Travel yoga mats. Apparently we thought we were moving in. Cathedral Rock isn't exactly a casual walk — I remember it feeling like we were going straight up at times, scrambling and climbing over rocks, and I was definitely not in the best shape of my life to be doing it. But once we got up there, everything changed. We found a small cove near Cathedral Rock, climbed down into it, and had lunch. We read. We journaled. We just... sat there. I remember feeling incredibly calm. People talk about Sedona having a spiritual energy, and whether or not you believe in vortexes, I understand why people describe it that way. There was something about sitting among those enormous red-rock formations, after working so hard to get there, that made everything feel very still. Of course, we also had a mini photoshoot to commemorate the fact that we'd survived the climb.</image:caption>

<image:title>Postcards - Our First Girls' Trip: Four Days in Sedona - Devil's Bridge</image:title>
<image:caption>The next morning, we tackled Devil's Bridge Trail — the longer hiking day, from what I remember. There were some genuinely challenging sections, but the payoff was worth it. And yes, there's a line for the photo. Everyone waits their turn to walk out onto the bridge, and when it's finally yours, you get that iconic shot with the red-rock landscape stretching out behind you. What I remember loving most was how nice everyone was — people helped each other take pictures so every group could get their shot.</image:caption>

<image:title>Postcards - Whittier to Seward: The Second Half of Our Alaska Itinerary - It ended up being one of the best decisions we made the entire trip.</image:title>
<image:caption>Riding above the mountains and looking down is genuinely indescribable — the photos really don’t do it justice. We saw a big bull moose scratching his antlers before landing directly on a glacier, where we drank from a pool of meltwater and walked around exploring the crevasses. The ice crackled constantly beneath our feet. If you’ve ever walked on compacted sleet after a rain-and-snow storm, that’s the closest sound I can compare it to. We were in the middle of these mountains, just little tiny creatures drinking water and walking amongst an extremely old glacier.</image:caption>

<image:title>Postcards - Whittier to Seward: The Second Half of Our Alaska Itinerary - We landed in an alpine patch at 3,200 feet. The ground was strangely spongy underfoot — how I imagine walking on the moon might feel. Fresh berries were growing around us, which we picked and ate on the spot. We joked that we were eating bear food. On the flight back, we spotted Dall sheep and a bear running into the woods.</image:title>

<image:title>Postcards - Whittier to Seward: The Second Half of Our Alaska Itinerary - This was a major highlight of the entire trip. We took an all-day marine tour out to Aialik Glacier, Spire Cove, and several small islands. Lunch and a drink were included, with additional snacks, drinks, and alcohol available onboard. One of our good friends had worked for the company and recommended the tour to us, and it did not disappoint. We started strong — sea otters and two bald eagles right away. And then we reached Spire Cove. The jagged spires, sheer cliffs, and aquamarine water crashing against solid rock made it feel like we’d entered another world. I completely understand why people describe this part of Alaska as having Jurassic Park vibes.</image:title>

<image:title>Postcards - Talkeetna to Denali: The First Half of Our Alaska Itinerary - Tuesday — Talkeetna</image:title>
<image:caption>Landed and picked up the rental car. It's about a 2-hour drive from Anchorage to Talkeetna, where we based ourselves for the first leg of the trip. The drive out of Anchorage starts off fairly ordinary, but don’t let it fool you. The farther north you drive, the more the mountains begin to appear. We checked into our cabin, hosted through Airbnb, right on the Susitna River. We got in just before sundown — it was crystal clear outside, pink skies setting, and you could see Denali itself. This inspired us to take a night drive, hoping for northern lights. Unfortunately, clouds rolled in and weather didn't cooperate, but it's worth the attempt if you're there in September.</image:caption>

<image:title>Postcards - Talkeetna to Denali: The First Half of Our Alaska Itinerary - Thursday — Hatcher's Pass</image:title>
<image:caption>Grabbed coffee, packed up, and headed out — but not before sitting by the river for a bit, taking in the mountain views one more time. Drove down Hatcher's Pass, which spans 49 miles end to end, and honestly, no photo does it justice. The "tundra carpet" effect really took over — vivid maroons, bright yellows, fiery orange, coppers, and brown. The colors were unlike anything I can describe; the hills felt alive. There were locals picking bearberries throughout. We even saw bald eagles flying around.</image:caption>

<image:title>Postcards - Talkeetna to Denali: The First Half of Our Alaska Itinerary - Before You Go:</image:title>
<image:caption>Talkeetna makes a solid first base if you're flying into Anchorage September means fewer crowds and incredible fall color, but also a lot of closures — plan meals around that (see the mid-September survival guide) Don't skip Hatcher's Pass, even if it's not "on the way" — it was one of the most scenic drives of the whole trip</image:caption>

<image:title>Letters - I Almost Didn’t Go - Looking at this picture now, you'd probably think I was having the most charming evening in a cozy English pub. And I was. It's also where I cried into a glass of wine.</image:title>
<image:caption>This was my very first solo trip without much of a plan — sort of a plan. Alright, well, the plan was to waltz around town, shop to shop, sit on a bench and read, and live out my Beauty and the Beast moment. There was one tiny problem. Nothing was open. Apparently November isn't exactly peak tourist season in the Cotswolds. Which still confuses me because it's just as magical as I imagined it would be in the summertime. It was just… quieter. The plans for my day were squashed. Generally, I have a travel partner to bounce ideas off of, to make the best of a situation. But I didn't have that person this time. How do I problem-solve people-pleasing when the person I'm pleasing is myself?</image:caption>
